Downtown Development Goals

  1. Work with City of Casper to develop/maintain comprehensive database of properties in DDA District and use to reduce vacancies, increase occupancies.
    1. Recruit diverse, quality businesses to district.
    2. Monitor “business balance” in district.
    3. Work with local architects, consultants, developers, and property owners to develop & present info. on reuse of upper floor space.
  2. Look for opportunities to expand the DDA District.
  3. Monitor and update DDA website.
  4. Work towards becoming a Wyoming Main Street Community.
  5. Explore establishing a “business incubator” in the district.
  6. Sponsor, create and support events and promotions that draw people to downtown.
  7. Partner with public and private entities to benefit Downtown Casper with projects such as the West Central Corridor Redevelopment Project.
  8. Improve public parking awareness, signage and usage.
  9. Explore “brown signs” directing travelers on interstates into Downtown Casper.
  10. Research low maintenance landscaping options.
  11. Establish regular stakeholder meetings, if only on annual basis initially.
